Searchable Permissions Overview

  • 100% Salesforce native app
  • No integrations, no connected apps, no remote sites

CRUD (Create/Read/Update/Delete) #

Searches respect read level access and only objects the user already has access to can be viewed.

Create, Read, Update, and Delete are only granted for app objects that assist with settings and error logging.

If the user has permissions to create searches, we also check object access and only show the objects the user can already access.

FLS (Field Level Security) #

Searches drop any fields that the user doesn’t have access to.

If the user has permissions to create searches, we also check what fields the user can access and only display information on those fields.

Record Access #

This app allows users to search for only records they already have access to.

Permission Sets #

  • Searchable User
  • Searchable Manager

Custom Permissions #

  • Searchable User
  • Searchable Manager

Do users need both the permission set and custom permission?

No, either one is great. The Searchable app is only looking for the custom permission. Each permission set contains the custom permission with the same name already. Instead of assigning the permission set, administrators can also add the custom permission to a permission set or permission set group that the user already has.
